Question: How long does the Basic Life Support class take?
Answer: The full class can be completed in less than an hour. The renewal can be done in even less time.
Question: If I get certified, will I need to help someone? I'm nervous about COVID-19.
Answer: If your job requires you to have a CPR or Basic Life Support card, then you will typically be required to act while at work. Most states do not have a duty to act law. You should check with your state to find specific requirements and how Good Samaritan laws affect you.
Question: My American Red Cross card has expired, can I still renew?
Answer: It depends on when the class expired. If your Red Cross or American Heart card is current, or is expired for less than 6 months, you can take the renewal.
