CPR
If the victim is not breathing and has no
pulse, begin CPR. Find the bottom of the victim’s ribcage
with your middle finger. Trace the ribcage up to xiphoid
process at the bottom of the sternum. Place your middle finger
on the xiphoid and your index finger next to it as a spacer,
Place heel of the palm of the same hand on the lower half of
the sternum, next to where your index finger was, just above
the xiphoid.. Position yourself so that your arms are
perpendicular to the victim. Compress the victim’s chest 1”
- 1 ½”. Compress at a rate of 100 per minute. Perform 30 compressions and then give
2 breaths. After 5 cycles of 30 compressions and 2 breaths, reassess the victim starting with a
pulse check. If necessary continue CPR with a compression to
ventilation ratio of 30:2 and reassess after every 5 cycles.
