Heart Attack
A heart attack is generally caused by a lack of oxygen
rich blood to part of the heart, which is often the result
of a blockage in one of the heart’s main arteries. When an
artery becomes occluded, the lack of oxygen damages the
heart, causes pain and interrupts it’s normal function.
The victim may or may not lose consciousness. Some victims
are able to walk around for many hours and do not realize
that they are having a heart attack. For this reason it is
important to recognize the signs and symptoms of a heart
attack.
